Picfair, when journalists get entrepreneurial

Have a look at this great example of what can be created when a journalists gets entrepreneurial: Picfair is an open market for images where photographers can be their own agents, posting pics, choosing the price and getting paid - no commission charged, copyright kept.

The man behind is Benji Lanyado, travel journalist and godfather of the Guardian’s Twitrips. He also worked as a digital producer for The Guardian, learned how to code last year and built Picfair in a few months, launching this summer. Impressive. A very good idea turned into reality. The site is easy to use, simple and convenient. And since it’s for professionals and non-professionals alike, the happy iphone snapper in me has started uploading some unprofessional bits and pieces. Let’s see.
